stress less, art more
i've complete a Master's Degree in Nursing. it took four years. and a pound of flesh. or maybe 12 pounds.
now i have a chance to reshape my life towards a more health-supportive lifestyle. better eating and exercise. and more art.
i titled this blog as a quilting sweatshop. in fact, i've been mostly metalsmithing lately. but i do not intend to rename my blog.
after grad school, i heard the birds outside my window in the morning. they have been singing for these four years but i never heard them. i used to worry that i would be "ordinary". now "ordinary days" feel filled with peace. my husband has threatened to "do an intervention" on me if i talk about further education (like a PhD or DNP). but he's not likely to have to. i am will be grateful for the MS degree i'm sure (once i recover). but i need more time for ordinary living. and art is a part of that. as essential as eating and sleeping.
today i thank the men and women who sacrificed their health and lives to keep us in a free country.
it is a good day to remember, things that i need to do with this new life and people who made it possible.
