A happy graduate school memory
One of the most happy days in graduate school was when I attended "The Future of Genomic Medicine" sponsored by Scripps hospital. This is a scene from the venue.
The speakers were just as marvelous as the venue. It was exhilarating to be among some of the brightest minds in medicine. One speaker that really amazed me was by Siddhartha Mukherjee, author of The Emperor of all Maladies. He made very complex genomic medicine concepts seem very simple, as only a genius can. I had not read the book prior to the event. I have since. It was the best book that I have read this year so far.
I had a great clinical preceptor who helped guide me to this seminar and also another great seminar in oncology nursing. I am grateful for the experience. I hope to pay it forward by being a generous preceptor to other nursing students when I get the chance.
