Operation Treehugger

my husband-person and i have wanted to live "where trees grow wild". we called it 'operation treehugger'.

this redbud tree was a showstopper. what you cannot see in this picture is that the bees loved it as much as we did. after the relentless graytones of winter the pink blossoms and blue sky really made me feel good.

i think the white flowering shrub is some kind of viburnum. in any case, it was very well-loved by the swallowtail butterflies at the North Carolina Arboretum.

this red-leafed Japanese maple is really fantastic. it lives just outside my place of work.

So...
          .... Operation Tree Hugger

Success!
