Happy Spring: "Cross Pollination 1"

So I was having a quilt camp day with one of my buddies. I was trying to use up batik fabric. She was sewing with some Kaffe Fassett fabric. She threw down some Kaffe on my batiks and it was, of course, wonderful. I told her, “you’re cross contaminating my quilt!” At the same time we said “cross pollination”!

So this is Cross Pollination 1 because I’m in the process of making three batik baby quilts from the Stargazey butterfly blocks. The detail shows a half-view butterfly that I designed. I love how it’s hovering over the batik sunflower about to snag some pollen.

It is a perfect antidote to my job. It also captures the joy of a new spring that I’m feeling.
