Hope Springs Lilacs

I grew up in Wisconsin. I live in San Diego. Lilacs usually don’t bloom in San Diego. There’s no chill.

A coworker said she had a low-chill lilac that actually blooms for her. She said it took a few years. I’ve been skeptical if these really bloom. But apparently they do. For some people.

So I’m being a spring fool today and making a long-term bet that I might strike a jackpot. I bought and planted Syringa vulgaris ‘Angel White’, shown in this photo.
