It's a Boy

I blogged earlier about placing a deposit on a kitten - 0r as my husband likes to call it "placing a kitten on layaway". Max was too little to be separated from mom when we met him. He gained weight but is still tiny at 1 lb. 3 ounces. But at 9 weeks he's old enough to come home.

Thanks to the dedicated volunteers and director of the Rosebud Society, a local rescue group. Max's mom was abandoned, pregnant, and starving. The kind people at Rosebud nurtured Max's mom and his siblings. Mom was too underfed to produce good milk for her kittens, so they added supplemental feedings. Max was very frail and almost didn't make it. But now is a playful joyous kitten. (He's on my lap as I type this now.)

He came home yesterday.

Max yesterday with his mom for one last feeding.

Max at home. Already establishing his credentials as a quilter's cat.

Max is a lap cat. Here he is asleep with his poppa.

What a joy it is to have this tiny bundle of zest! It will be a pleasure to watch him grow.
